Western Carolina University Club Softball officially joined the NCSA for the 2024-2025 season! The NCSA is excited to welcome the Catamounts who join Wayne State College, Colorado State University-Pueblo, University of Missouri, Washington University in St. Louis, Youngstown State University, University of St. Thomas, Yale University, University of New Mexico and Nova Southeastern University as the new teams for ’24-’25.

Congratulations to Northern Michigan University on winning the West Conference in the District 4 Region. Northern Michigan is the first team in the NCSA Division II to clinch a spot in the postseason with a conference record of 13-2!
The October NCSA D2 Top 10 has a lot of movement! We have a new #1 see this month and it is Sacred Heart D2, starting the season off 3-0 beating Yale and coming in 4th at the NCSA D2 World Series this is well deserved SHU D2! we have a tie for the #2 seed trailing 17 Points behind is Fairfield and UW-Whitewater these teams are both power houses in the NCSA UW-Whitewater is our reigning National Champion for the 2023-24 season, both teams earning #1 votes! Wisconsin is at #4 as they did earn a #1 place vote as well. #5 seed is Stonehill with the most 1st place votes 4 in total! The NCSA D2 season has officially started, and we would like to announce the 2024-25 Preseason Top 10 teams! With no surprise here we have our National Champion at #1, I think this placement can speak for itself as this ranking was well deserved! #2 you are looking at your runner up from the World Series, Salisbury never gave up throughout the year making this a well-earned #2 seed! At #3 we have SHU D2 Sacred Heart never gave up this season, this is a team to watch this season! To see Stevenson at #5 was a surprise as they were out third place team at the World Series, I know they will bring their best 9 on the field this season! District 4 home of the National Champions UW-Whitewater, what a way to finish the 2024 season! District 4 is a powerhouse for competition with Wisconsin D2, Ferris state, SVSU and UW-Whitewater! These four teams not only made their mark this year but will continue to get stronger and stronger for the years to come. Adding St. Thomas to the mix this year we are excited to see if they will shuffle things around! The NCSA is excited to announce that we have agreed to an extension through 2028 with Visit PCB and Publix Sports Park to continue hosting our annual Swing into Spring event each March.
Publix Sports Park is located in sunny beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida & features 5 fully turf fields. Built in 2019, it’s a beautiful complex situated just miles from the beach which also provides a fantastic destination for Spring Break when away from the field.
2025 will be the 3rd straight year the event takes place in PCB as each year has brought 50+ NCSA teams down on their Spring Break.

District II teams are powerhouses as not 1 but 2 teams from District II attended the NCSA D2 World Series. Representing the south conference, we had both Stevenson and Salisbury, Stevenson is currently ranked #3 and Salisbury is #2 in the Nation! Lock Haven is another team to watch as they attended the District Playoffs as they had a great run but fell short of the championship title.
